A Message from Conductor Kanade Yokoyama
I’m delighted to have the opportunity to appear once again in Sapporo no Neiro (“Tones of Sapporo”), a concert presented through the collaboration of the Sapporo Musician Council and Kitara. Last year, the joy of creating a concert together with these two organizations—both of which are very dear to me—was immense, and I’m delighted to be able to perform with them again. This year’s program is even more colorful and wide-ranging than last year’s. In particular, the audience will have the rare opportunity to hear complete renditions of Francis Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra and Felix Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream accompanied by narration. Bringing together pianists, orchestral musicians, and vocalists, the concert will be a full-scale collaborative performance unique to the Sapporo Musician Council. It promises to be a spectacular production, so I hope to see you there!
