The organ in the centre of the main hall was built by Alfred Kern & Fils Manufacture D'Orgues which has been making organs in a long tradition of manufacturing classical-style organs based in Strasbourg ,France. It took two years for the company to custom-make this organ for Kitara. The organ has softly shining silver-colored 4,976 pipes made of alloys of lead and tin designed after the beautiful needle-leaved trees of Hokkaido. For four month, the organ was installed and tuned with utmost care. The organ's 68 stop knobs enable organists to produce deep sounds capable of moving audience.
Each key of the organs has a small room inside the wind-chest and a valve under the room. If one of the keys is pushed, the connecting valve opens, so air stream in through the pipe above the wind-chest.
This is the way how the pipe organ makes sounds. One pipe is able to make only one sound and one timbre. In addition, the stops at both sides of the console can change the tone. Therefore, different kinds of timbre from pipes should be sound by handling the stops.
