The arena-style large main hall at Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara has been the premier classical music performance space since its opening in 1997.
The hall has 2,020 seats which surround the open stage. The dynamic curves of the walls are made by embodiments of Hokkaido's highest woodworking skill and the huge sound-reflecting boards are lit by dazzling chandeliers. Therefore, the audience will experience the prime time with the latest sound equipments designed on the image of the northern nature of Hokkaido.
